{"id":29890,"date":"2026-01-30T16:02:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-30T21:02:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=29890"},"modified":"2026-01-30T16:02:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-30T21:02:08","slug":"fpc-looking-for-plantiffs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=29890","title":{"rendered":"FPC looking for plantiffs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.firearmspolicy.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Firearms Policy Coalition<\/a> is looking for potential plaintiffs in New York for future legal action.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what they&#8217;re interested in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Live in either New York City or within the counties of Duchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, or Westchester<\/li>\n<li>Are at least 21 years old<\/li>\n<li>Possess a valid license to carry a handgun issued by their city or county of residence<\/li>\n<li>Regularly visit New York City and regularly visits or travels through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timessquarenyc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Times Square<\/a> area<\/li>\n<li>Would carry a handgun in Times Square if not for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5ny.com\/news\/gun-free-zone-times-square\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the law prohibiting it<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Would be willing to sue New York City and participate in a federal lawsuit as a named plaintiff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I believe they are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scotusblog.com\/2026\/01\/supreme-court-appears-sympathetic-to-gun-owners-challenge-to-hawaii-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">anticipating a win<\/a> in the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/law.justia.com\/cases\/federal\/appellate-courts\/ca9\/23-16164\/23-16164-2024-09-06.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wolford v.
