Lopez"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\" target=\"_blank\">Supreme Court<\/a> has accepted the case of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scotusblog.com\/cases\/case-files\/wolford-v-lopez\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wolford v. Lopez<\/a><\/em>, asking whether Hawaii may presumptively prohibit the carry of handguns by licensed concealed carry permit holders on private property open to the public unless the property owner affirmatively gives express permission to the handgun carrier.<\/p>\n<p>This is essentially the same as part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.governor.ny.gov\/news\/safer-streets-governor-hochul-signs-legislation-strengthening-new-yorks-gun-safety-laws-and\" target=\"_blank\">Hochul&#8217;s gun control law<\/a>.  Should the plaintiffs win this case, the New York would not automatically go away.
