Whereas, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">CDC<\/a>\u201d) is predicted to lose 2,400 jobs or 20% of its staff in the coming months; and <\/p>\n<p>Whereas, The <strong>CDC staff who have already been terminated include individuals who worked on programs to prevent<\/strong> drowning and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrace.org\/2025\/04\/cdc-layoffs-gun-violence-prevention-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\">gun violence<\/a><\/strong>, improve worker safety and test for sexually transmitted diseases;
