{"id":29340,"date":"2025-04-27T07:50:35","date_gmt":"2025-04-27T11:50:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=29340"},"modified":"2025-04-27T07:50:35","modified_gmt":"2025-04-27T11:50:35","slug":"democrat-candidates-for-rochester-mayor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=29340","title":{"rendered":"Democrat candidates for Rochester Mayor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three candidates are running in a Democrat primary on June 24 for Mayor of Rochester: Incumbent <a href=\"https:\/\/malikevans.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mayor Malik Evans<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marylupien.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">City Councilwoman Mary Lupien<\/a> and businessman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shashisinha.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shashi Sinha<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what I have on the candidates:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Malik Evans has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofrochester.gov\/departments\/law-department\/gun-violence-state-emergency-proclamation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a proven record advocating for more gun control<\/a>. He is unacceptable.<\/li>\n<li>Mary Lupien has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/marylupienroc\/p\/DIyxiavR9q1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">endorsed by Moms Demand Action<\/a>.\u00a0 She is unacceptable.<\/li>\n<li>Shashi Sinha does not have a public record on the issue.
