{"id":29008,"date":"2024-12-12T15:58:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-12T20:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=29008"},"modified":"2024-12-12T16:18:52","modified_gmt":"2024-12-12T21:18:52","slug":"junk-lawsuit-against-glock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=29008","title":{"rendered":"Junk lawsuit against Glock"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/12\/12\/business\/glock-sued-by-nj-over-switch-that-turns-handguns-into-machine-guns\/\" target=\"_blank\">bunch of Democrat state A.G.s<\/a> have filed a lawsuit against <a href=\"http:\/\/www.glock.com\" target=\"_blank\">Glock<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;Attorneys general in Minnesota and New Jersey sued Glock on Thursday, accusing the company of making handguns that are easily modified to fire as illegal machine guns through a cheap add-on known as a \u201cGlock switch.\u201d &#8230; The gun maker has known for decades that its weapons are uniquely receptive to the switches and has not taken steps to change its design, according to the lawsuits &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>By definition, this has nothing to do with Glock.  It is a third party modification.  It&#8217;s like saying Ford has done nothing to prevent drunk drivers from getting behind the wheel of their cars.  If we had a functioning legal system this garbage would be tossed out the first time it goes before a judge.  Unfortunately I suspect it will drag out for a number of years before going down.
