Democratic <a href=\"https:\/\/council.nyc.gov\/district-43\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Councilman Justin Brannan<\/a> &#8230; is seriously considering running next year to unseat Republican <a href=\"https:\/\/malliotakis.house.gov\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rep. Nicole Malliotakis<\/a>, multiple sources said. Although the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latfor.state.ny.us\/maps\/congress2022\/con11.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">11th Congressional District<\/a> has long been a Republican stronghold encompassing Malliotaksis\u2019 home borough of Staten Island and moderate sections of southern Brooklyn, political pundits say Brannan has a legit shot to win, provided the legislative boundaries are redrawn as many expect to include more liberal sections of Brooklyn &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Malliotakis is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.silive.com\/politics\/2022\/06\/malliotakis-explains-her-yes-vote-to-democratic-gun-control-bills-and-no-to-overall-package.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">big antigun RINO<\/a> and always has been.
