Jerry Nadler<\/a> admitted a Democrat-led bill intends to confiscate guns in \u201ccommon use\u201d during a Wednesday <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">House Judiciary Committee<\/a> hearing. Republican North Carolina <a href=\"https:\/\/danbishop.house.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rep. Dan Bishop<\/a> asked House Democrats if they dispute the fact that the proposed legislation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/house-bill\/1808\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">H.R. 1808, titled \u201cAssault Weapons Ban of 2021<\/a>,\u201d bans firearms in \u201ccommon use\u201d throughout the country. \u201cWould anyone on the other side dispute that this bill would ban weapons that are in common use in the United States today?\u201d Bishop asked. \u201cThat\u2019s the point of the bill,\u201d Nadler replied. \u201cSo, to clarify, Mr. Chairman, you\u2019re saying it is the point of the bill to ban weapons that are in common use in the United States today,\u201d the Republican representative pressed. \u201cYes,\u201d Nadler clarified. \u201cThe problem is that they\u2019re in common use.\u201d &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That may be the point of the bill, but what pundits have missed is why is Jerry bringing this up now?<\/p>\n<p>Answer: He&#8217;s in a nasty 3-way primary with the equally detestable <a href=\"https:\/\/maloney.house.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rep. Carolyn Maloney<\/a> as well as newcomer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.surajpatel.nyc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Suraj Patel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Maloney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/07\/06\/poll-rep-carolyn-maloney-leads-rep-jerry-nadler-in-democrat-primary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">appears to be in the lead<\/a> and she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/politics\/rep-maloney-touts-abortion-rally-arrest-ahead-of-new-york-democratic-primary\/ar-AAZXC27\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">made abortion her signature issue<\/a>.
