At 10:30 am today Assembly Codes Committee Chair<\/a> Jeffrey Dinowitz<\/a> will take testimony to examine gun control proposals aimed at further reducing firearm-related accidents and violence, as well as curbing the proliferation of illegal guns in New York, Hearing Room C, Legislative Office Building, Albany<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The posted agenda<\/a> calls for input on any new gun control schemes the legislature has not yet addressed as well as questioning why the ammunition database that was supposed to be created under the SAFE Act<\/a> is not up and running.<\/p>\n

Nothing good will come of this.<\/p>\n

The NY Assembly is holding a hearing on the state of the long-awaited, SAFE Act-era database on gun ammunition sales, which has never launched.<\/p>\n

State Police, DCJS among state agencies who declined to participate, Dinowitz says. He's threatening to use a subpoena in the future.<\/p>\n
