{"id":22966,"date":"2020-11-30T07:42:38","date_gmt":"2020-11-30T12:42:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=22966"},"modified":"2020-11-30T07:42:38","modified_gmt":"2020-11-30T12:42:38","slug":"a-bright-spot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=22966","title":{"rendered":"A bright spot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There wasn&#8217;t much good news for New Yorkers this past election, but there was one bright spot in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latfor.state.ny.us\/maps\/2012a\/AD_map_rep_097.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AD-97<\/a> in Rockland where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawler4ny.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mike Lawler<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rocklandreport.com\/mike-lawler-declared-winner-in-97th-assembly-district-jaffee-concedes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">defeated incumbent<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ellencjaffee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; This morning, the <a href=\"https:\/\/rocklandgov.com\/departments\/board-of-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rockland County Board of Elections<\/a> counted 4,673 of the remaining 5,125 absentee ballots to be counted. After the votes were counted, our lead held at 3,067 votes. With only 452 ballots left to be counted (excluding special federal), our campaign can now declare victory with 100% certainty.
