{"id":22573,"date":"2020-09-23T18:31:22","date_gmt":"2020-09-23T22:31:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=22573"},"modified":"2020-09-23T18:35:22","modified_gmt":"2020-09-23T22:35:22","slug":"mimi-walks-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=22573","title":{"rendered":"Mimi walks in"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theexaminernews.com\/republican-nominee-for-westchester-d-a-drops-out-of-race\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bad news out of Westchester<\/a>: The long shot Republican candidate for District Attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/lawyers.justia.com\/lawyer\/bruce-p-bendish-1096477\">Bruce Bendish<\/a> dropped out of the race.<\/p>\n<p>This means <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mimirocahforda.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mimi Rocah<\/a>, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lohud.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2020\/07\/16\/mimi-rocah-wins-westchester-district-attorney-primary\/5450506002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">won the Democrat primary<\/a> over incumbent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tonyscarpino.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anthony Scarpino<\/a>, will walk into office unopposed in January where I predict she will be one of the loudest voices in the state for more gun control:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; \u201cNot having an opponent does not change the fact that we have a lot of work to do to ensure conviction integrity, accountability, <strong>prevent gun violence<\/strong>, secure justice for domestic violence victims and sexual assault survivors and implement my revolutionary transparency plan at the Westchester County DA\u2019s office,\u201d she said &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I fought with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MomsDemand?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MomsDemand<\/a> to keep our schools, places of worship, and communities safe from gun violence.
