{"id":22471,"date":"2020-09-07T09:30:06","date_gmt":"2020-09-07T13:30:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=22471"},"modified":"2020-09-07T09:30:06","modified_gmt":"2020-09-07T13:30:06","slug":"a-common-man-with-common-sense","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=22471","title":{"rendered":"A common man with common sense"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chenangodems\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chenango County Democratic Committee<\/a> announced their endorsement for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latfor.state.ny.us\/maps\/2012a\/AD_map_rep_122.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AD-122<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rickshawforassembly.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rick Shaw<\/a> of Downsville was endorsed in the NYS 122nd NYS Assembly district race. \u201cA common man with common sense,\u201d he was born and raised in Delaware County, was a Health and Safety Coordinator for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dcmoboces.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DCMO BOCES<\/a> for 25 years, and still works as a consultant since his retirement. <strong>Rick supports common sense revisions the <a href=\"https:\/\/safeact.ny.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NYS SAFE Act<\/a><\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/legislation\/bills\/2019\/s2101\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bail Reform Act<\/a>, supporting mental illness treatment initiatives, supporting agricultural business initiatives, repairing deteriorating infrastructure and reducing taxes &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>What exactly those &#8220;common sense revisions&#8221; he supports are is a mystery, but I would guess it involves sucking up to the Fudds.\u00a0 On his campaign website he has this:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; An avid outdoorsman, Rick enjoys spending time on his property that has been in his family for 4 generations.
