{"id":22286,"date":"2020-08-06T17:28:49","date_gmt":"2020-08-06T21:28:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=22286"},"modified":"2020-08-06T17:28:49","modified_gmt":"2020-08-06T21:28:49","slug":"james-nra-lawsuit-helps-the-gop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=22286","title":{"rendered":"James&#8217; NRA lawsuit helps the GOP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Interesting analysis:<\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Letitia James just handed the GOP the ammo to win every swing state from PA to Arizona <\/p>\n<p>But will they use it?<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Jack Posobiec &#x1f1fa;&#x1f1f8; (@JackPosobiec) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JackPosobiec\/status\/1291423132146896896?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 6, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/center><\/p>\n<p>I believe this has <em>some<\/em> merit because many NRA members and supporters won&#8217;t dig down past the headline, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/ag.ny.gov\/press-release\/2020\/attorney-general-james-files-lawsuit-dissolve-nra\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Attorney General James Files Lawsuit to Dissolve NRA.<\/a>&#8221;  However, the problem for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nra.org\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">NRA<\/a> is <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tishjames\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">James&#8217;<\/a> investigation was brought about due to financial mismanagement on the part of the Board and I have not seen anyone dispute that.<\/p>\n<p>From a purely political standpoint, it is in James&#8217; interest to hurt the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.joebiden.com\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Biden<\/a> campaign for if he loses it could open the door to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.governor.ny.gov\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Gov. Cuomo<\/a> running in &#8217;24.
