{"id":21747,"date":"2020-05-13T12:43:22","date_gmt":"2020-05-13T16:43:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=21747"},"modified":"2020-05-13T12:43:22","modified_gmt":"2020-05-13T16:43:22","slug":"push-abinanti-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=21747","title":{"rendered":"Push Abinanti out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Hudson Independent <a href=\"https:\/\/thehudsonindependent.com\/irvington-resident-back-on-ballot-in-democratic-assembly-primary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reports<\/a> that incumbent <a href=\"https:\/\/nyassembly.gov\/mem\/Thomas-J-Abinanti\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Assemblyman Tom Abinanti<\/a> will face challenger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jenforny.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jen\u00adnifer Williams<\/a> in next month&#8217;s Democrat primary in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latfor.state.ny.us\/maps\/2012a\/AD_map_rep_092.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AD-92<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Abinanti has <a href=\"https:\/\/legislativegazette.com\/assembly-bill-would-ban-gun-shows-on-public-property\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a history of sponsoring antigun legislation<\/a> going back to his time in the <a href=\"https:\/\/westchesterlegislators.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">county legislature<\/a>. Williams is not pro-gun, but that does not matter. Incumbents must know they will pay a price at election time for carrying gun control bills.
