{"id":21358,"date":"2020-03-09T13:29:54","date_gmt":"2020-03-09T17:29:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=21358"},"modified":"2020-03-09T13:29:54","modified_gmt":"2020-03-09T17:29:54","slug":"stand-your-ground-legislation-introduced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=21358","title":{"rendered":"Stand Your Ground legislation introduced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Stand Your Ground&#8221; legislation has been introduced to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Senate<\/a> as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/legislation\/bills\/2019\/s7915\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">S-7915<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>From The Justification statement:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/constitution\/second_amendment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Second Amendment<\/a> is designed for protective use by the people of the United States of America. Currently, New York statute states that the only place where the duty of retreating is removed is their own dwelling.
