{"id":20818,"date":"2019-12-16T15:05:45","date_gmt":"2019-12-16T20:05:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=20818"},"modified":"2019-12-16T15:05:45","modified_gmt":"2019-12-16T20:05:45","slug":"how-to-obtain-a-nyc-pistol-license","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=20818","title":{"rendered":"How to obtain a NYC pistol license"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve seen so many <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2019\/12\/14\/head-of-minority-lawmakers-charity-an-alleged-political-fixer-de-blasio-pal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">stories like this<\/a> over the years and such shameless corruption doesn&#8217;t get old:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;The director of a state lawmakers\u2019 charity that has failed to give out scholarships to needy minority students is a Brooklyn political \u201cfixer\u201d who allegedly used her close ties to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NYCMayor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mayor de Blasio<\/a> to obtain gun permits with the NYPD\u2019s corrupt licensing division. <a href=\"http:\/\/macon.realtymx.com\/index.cfm?page=agents&amp;state=profile&amp;id=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brooklyn realtor Charlene Gayle<\/a> is the executive director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysabprlinc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York State Association of Black and Puerto Rican Legislators<\/a>, a nonprofit that puts on an annual \u201cCaucus Weekend\u201d \u2014 a lavish series of parties and networking events \u2014 in Albany, but has failed to hand out education grants for the last two years despite that being its stated charitable mission. Sources described Gayle as a \u201cgo-to\u201d Democratic political fundraiser in the borough, who was retained by the Orthodox Jewish community to expedite gun permits with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www1.nyc.gov\/site\/nypd\/index.page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NYPD<\/a>. Former NYPD Lt. Paul Dean, who is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsday.com\/long-island\/nassau\/paul-dean-nypd-corruption-1.26682067\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">serving an 18-month sentence for failing to stop a bribery scheme<\/a> that allowed well-connected New Yorkers obtain gun licenses quickly, told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fbi.gov\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">FBI<\/a> about a businesswoman close to de Blasio who regularly obtained VIP treatment at <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/jNLQCWn6mqSWzf8i7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1 Police Plaza<\/a> for her clients, according to papers filed by Dean\u2019s lawyer in <a href=\"https:\/\/nysd.uscourts.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Manhattan Federal Court<\/a> as part of Dean\u2019s bribery trial.
