The candidates are <a href=\"http:\/\/georgeborrello.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Republican Chautauqua County Executive George Borrello<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voteaustinmorgan.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Democrat Austin Morgan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Salamanca Press has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.salamancapress.com\/news\/morgan-borrello-meet-in-last-th-senate-district-debate-on\/article_643e0bb2-f5d7-11e9-bec3-5b6a907be948.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">brief position 2A statements<\/a> from both of them:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; Asked about the SAFE Act, Borrello said he supports outright repeal. \u201cIt is a horrible government overreach. Every single <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorksenatedems.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Democrat<\/a> voted for it. I stood up for gun rights.\u201d Morgan said that a Republican-controlled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Senate<\/a> passed the SAFE Act. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/senators\/john-j-flanagan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Majority Leader John Flanagan<\/a>, who supported Borello to the tune of $63,000, voted for the SAFE Act.
