Like they did after El Paso,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NYCMayor\/status\/1167960837488726016\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mayor de Blasio tweeted<\/a>. \u201cThey\u2019ll stall and wait out the anger. Like they do every time. We have to BREAK the cycle. We need leaders to LEAD. Mitch McConnell: Bring the Senate back to pass commonsense gun control NOW.\u201d &#8230; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.governor.ny.gov\/news\/statement-governor-andrew-m-cuomo-shooting-texas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gov. Cuomo was exasperated as well<\/a>, demanding in a terse statement, \u201cMr. President: DO SOMETHING. \u201cHow many more families will lose loved ones, how many more communities will be torn apart?\u201d he said. \u201cHow many more tragedies will it take before \u201cleaders\u201d act? The bloodshed must end now &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Attempting to shame the Trump <u>might<\/u> be more effective were it not for the fact that Democrats, especially these two, have been dumping on him constantly about every little thing. Trump simply has nothing to gain by kowtowing to their hysterics and as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2019\/09\/01\/trump-mass-shootings-background-checks-1479452\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Politico notes<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;Following Saturday\u2019s shootings in West Texas, President Donald Trump on Sunday remained firm that his \u201cadministration is committed to working with Congress to stop the menace of mass attacks\u201d but did not include universal background checks as part of the solution this time &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Why should he?  Aside from the fact that they don&#8217;t work and are unenforceable does anyone really believe that if Trump took De Blasio&#8217;s\/Cuomo&#8217;s advice either one of them would praise him in public, let alone endorse him for re-election?  Of course not.
