{"id":1995,"date":"2010-07-24T09:33:10","date_gmt":"2010-07-24T13:33:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=1995"},"modified":"2010-07-24T09:33:10","modified_gmt":"2010-07-24T13:33:10","slug":"identifying-the-problem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=1995","title":{"rendered":"Identifying the problem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Poughkeepsie Journal has an article, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.poughkeepsiejournal.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=20107240321\" target=\"_blank\">Cuomo, Lazio raise and spend millions<\/a>&#8220;, which clearly identifies the problem with <a href=\"http:\/\/lazio.com\" target=\"_blank\">Rick Lazio&#8217;s<\/a> campaign. \u00a0Well, one of them anyway. \u00a0His main problem is he&#8217;s an antigun <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Republican_In_Name_Only\" target=\"_blank\">RINO<\/a>, but beyond that we have this:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; In the state&#8217;s gubernatorial race, former Rep. Rick Lazio has spent nearly as much money over the last six months as opponents <a href=\"http:\/\/www.andrewcuomo.com\" target=\"_blank\">Andrew Cuomo<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paladinoforthepeople.com\" target=\"_blank\">Carl Paladino<\/a>, despite <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elections.state.ny.us:8080\/plsql_browser\/getfiler2?filerid_in=A47955\" target=\"_blank\">Lazio&#8217;s anemic fundraising<\/a> &#8230; Lazio reported spending $1.6 million between January and July &#8230; A large portion of that money went to political consultant <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Arthur_J._Finkelstein\" target=\"_blank\">Arthur Finkelstein<\/a>, a longtime GOP operative. \u00a0Consultants have been paid $534,000 by Lazio&#8217;s campaign this election cycle &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That&#8217;s outrageous. \u00a0He blows a third of his cash on political hacks and what does he get? \u00a0According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wben.com\/Poll--Lazio-Slips----Paladino-Gains--But-Cuomo-Sti\/7749885\" target=\"_blank\">latest poll numbers<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; Cuomo earns 58% of the vote against Lazio and Paladino.
