{"id":19274,"date":"2019-06-20T18:46:09","date_gmt":"2019-06-20T22:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=19274"},"modified":"2019-06-20T18:46:09","modified_gmt":"2019-06-20T22:46:09","slug":"legislature-tries-blocking-scotus-lawsuit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=19274","title":{"rendered":"Legislature tries blocking SCOTUS lawsuit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/legislation\/bills\/2019\/a7752\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>A-7752<\/strong><\/a>, Relates to the transport of pistols or revolvers by licensees, has been substituted for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/legislation\/bills\/2019\/s6151\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>S-6151<\/strong><\/a> and just passed the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Senate<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/legislation\/bills\/2019\/a7752\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>A-7752<\/strong><\/a> passed the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nyassembly.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Assembly<\/a> yesterday. The bill now heads to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.governor.ny.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Governor<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this legislation was to derail the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nraila.org\/articles\/20190508\/nra-continues-backing-supreme-court-challenge-to-nyc-s-travel-ban\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NRA-backed transport lawsuit against NYC<\/a> by changing state law to address the issues in the case.
