{"id":19269,"date":"2019-06-19T13:08:37","date_gmt":"2019-06-19T17:08:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=19269"},"modified":"2019-06-19T13:08:37","modified_gmt":"2019-06-19T17:08:37","slug":"safe-comes-up-in-sd-57-gop-primary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=19269","title":{"rendered":"SAFE comes up in SD-57 GOP primary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The SAFE Act has come up in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latfor.state.ny.us\/maps\/2012s\/SD_map_rep_57.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">57th Senate District<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wellsvilledaily.com\/news\/20190619\/crandall-primary-foe-beholden-to-albany-gop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">primary for the GOP nomination<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; The Republican race to elect the next New York state senator in the Southern Tier is starting to resemble an episode of \u201cFamily Feud.\u201d A Republican running in a primary next week to succeed retired <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Catharine_Young\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">state Sen. Cathy Young<\/a> is lashing out at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/senators\/john-j-flanagan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GOP Senate leader<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nysenategop.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Senate GOP Campaign Committee<\/a> for supporting his opponent in the intra-party contest. <a href=\"mailto:CrandallCW@alleganyco.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Curtis W.
