Executive<\/a> on <strong>Tuesday, April 30th<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The choice is between <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ryanforulster.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Democrat Pat Ryan<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnjhayes.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Conservative Jack Hayes<\/a>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulstergop.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Republicans<\/a> could not put up their own candidate and are backing Hayes.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan is <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.hudsonvalley.com\/fray\/2018\/05\/15\/ryan-campaign-ad-calls-for-assault-rifle-ban\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">an antigun ideologue<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hayes does not have a record on the issue that I am aware of. <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.hudsonvalley.com\/fray\/2016\/09\/28\/nra-pac-hands-out-grades-to-local-politicians-in-state-federal-races\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">He was rated <strong>?<\/strong> by NRA for his previous bid for State Assembly in 2016<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.timesunion.com\/capitol\/archives\/282314\/congressional-candidate-launches-gun-control-ad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Considering Ryan&#8217;s public statements on 2A<\/a>, Hayes is the better choice for gun owners although I expect Ryan is going to walk all over him in the election.
