{"id":18587,"date":"2019-02-24T10:20:58","date_gmt":"2019-02-24T15:20:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=18587"},"modified":"2019-02-24T10:28:52","modified_gmt":"2019-02-24T15:28:52","slug":"voter-guide-for-public-advocate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=18587","title":{"rendered":"Voter guide for Public Advocate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The special election for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pubadvocate.nyc.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NYC Public Advocate<\/a> will be this Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Gotham Gazette has a list of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gothamgazette.com\/city\/8201-23-candidates-submit-petitions-to-get-on-february-26-public-advocate-ballot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nearly two dozen candidates running<\/a> in the non-partisan election.\u00a0 Because of the number of candidates one could win with a small plurality of votes.\u00a0 The office itself is vaguely defined and has little actual power, but can be used as a soapbox and springboard for higher office as <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tishjames\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Letitia James<\/a> did.\u00a0 For this reason gun owners should make the best voting decision with the materials given.<\/p>\n<p>Going down the list, vote AGAINST these candidates in order:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JumaaneWilliams\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jumaane Williams<\/a> &#8211; antigun ideologue<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.danieljodonnell.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Daniel O&#8217;Donnell<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rontkim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ron Kim<\/a> &#8211; voted for SAFE Act plus other gun control legislation in Albany<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/assembly.state.ny.us\/mem\/Michael-Blake\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Michael Blake<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/nyassembly.gov\/mem\/Latrice-Walker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Latrice Walker<\/a> &#8211; voted for gun control legislation in Albany<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.melissamarkviverito.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Melissa Mark-Viverito<\/a> &#8211; voted for gun control legislation in City Council<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rafaelespinal.nyc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rafael Espinal<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ydanis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ydanis Rodriguez<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/eric_ulrich\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eric Ulrich<\/a> &#8211; voted for gun control legislation in City Council<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Victory shall be defined as Jumaane Williams losing.\u00a0 He&#8217;s easily the worst of the bunch on 2A.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the candidates do not have public positions on guns that I&#8217;m aware of.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ssb_list_wrapper\"><li class=\"fb2\" style=\"width:135px\"><iframe src=\"\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/like.php?href=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gunpoliticsny.com%2F%3Fp%3D18587&amp;layout=button_count&amp;action=like&amp;show_faces=false&amp;share=true&amp;width=135&amp;height=21&amp;appId=307091639398582\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:none; overflow:hidden;  width:150px; height:21px;\" allowTransparency=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/li><li class=\"twtr\" style=\"width:90px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/share\" class=\"twitter-share-button\" data-url=\"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=18587\">&nbsp;<\/a><script>!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],p=\/^http:\/.test(d.location)?'http':'https';if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=p+':\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js';fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document, 'script', 'twitter-wjs');<\/script><\/li><li class=\"gplus\" style=\"width:68px\"><div class=\"g-plusone\" data-size=\"medium\" data-href=\"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=18587\"><\/div><\/li><li class=\"ssb_linkedin\" style=\"width:64px\"><script src=\"\/\/platform.linkedin.com\/in.js\" type=\"text\/javascript\">lang: en_US<\/script><script type=\"IN\/Share\" data-url=\"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=18587\" data-counter=\"right\"><\/script><\/li><\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The special election for NYC Public Advocate will be this Tuesday.
