I was honored to lend my voice to this case by signing an Amicus Brief because the government does not have the right to violate the 2nd Amendment and strip American citizens of this critical freedom.  This landmark decision will further strengthen the constitutional precedent and protect our rights from unjust laws for years to come.\u201d &#8230;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/owens.house.gov\/News\/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=192651\" target=\"_blank\">Congressman Bill Owens (D- 23)<\/a>:<br \/>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8230; \u201cI applaud this decision by the Supreme Court to uphold the federally protected right of every American to keep and bear arms.  I am a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and I am glad to see that it cannot be infringed upon by state and local governments.\u201d &#8230;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Candidates:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/nanhayworth.wordpress.com\/2010\/06\/29\/john-hall-vs-constitution-part-iii-constitution-wins\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nan Hayworth (R-CD-19)<\/a> :<br \/>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8230; &#8220;Monday the Supreme Court handed down its decision in the Second Amendment-rights case <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagoguncase.com\" target=\"_blank\">McDonald v. Chicago<\/a>.  The majority opinion, written by <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Samuel_Alito\" target=\"_blank\">Associate Justice Samuel Alito<\/a>, affirmed what many of us have known all along:  that the Second Amendment protects an individual right, not to be infringed by any government, whether federal, state, or local&#8221;
