{"id":17276,"date":"2018-08-06T18:19:39","date_gmt":"2018-08-06T22:19:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=17276"},"modified":"2018-08-06T18:19:39","modified_gmt":"2018-08-06T22:19:39","slug":"nra-should-use-the-finger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=17276","title":{"rendered":"NRA should use the finger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.andrewcuomo.com\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Governor Cuomo<\/a> is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nystateofpolitics.com\/2018\/08\/cuomo-digital-ad-touts-nras-financial-troubles\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">running a new ad<\/a> touting his latest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2018\/08\/06\/politics\/cuomo-new-york-nra-new-day-cnntv\/index.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pissing contest with the NRA<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"525\" height=\"295\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/59NDp7ATfhg\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>What Cuomo said at 0:13 is very instructive for those unaware of Albany politics. He makes it clear he has no respect for his opposition, will get in their face and do whatever it takes to humiliate and defeat them.<\/p>\n<p>There is only one way to respond to this: Do the exact same thing back at the Governor.<\/p>\n<p>Back in May I suggested <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nra.org\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NRA<\/a> tell members to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=16624\"><em>Vote for the Homo, Not the Cuomo<\/em><\/a> in the Democrat primary.  <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CynthiaNixon\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cynthia Nixon<\/a> is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2018\/03\/20\/politics\/cynthia-nixon-andrew-cuomo-new-york\/index.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">already driving Cuomo nuts<\/a> and the possibility of tens of thousands of NRA members voting against him in a primary where turnout is already expected to be low would force him to spend a lot of time and money defending himself and further weaken his standing on the national level.
