Brad Hoylman<\/a>, a Democrat, is introducing a bill that would ban ghost guns and 3-D firearms in New York &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>HA!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I generally don&#8217;t like commenting on legislation until I&#8217;ve had a chance to read the bill, but in this case I don&#8217;t need to.\u00a0 There is absolutely no way to enforce such a law.\u00a0 I&#8217;m sure Hoylman will get some model legislation from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bradycampaign.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brady<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/momsdemandaction.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moms<\/a> or someone and intro a bill based on it but without a practical way to enforce the penalties who cares what they are?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; \u201cThanks to the Trump administration, anyone in America or across the world \u2014 be it a teenager, felon or terrorist \u2014 can evade a background check and manufacture a dangerous weapon with a click of a button,\u201d Hoylman said. \u201cThis is an existential threat to gun control as we know it.\u201d &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This statement is very telling.<\/p>\n<p>Notice he does not say this is a threat to public safety.\u00a0 Hoylman says it is a threat to gun control itself.\u00a0 That is an exaggeration, especially with current technology, but consider a possible impact on the SAFE Act.\u00a0 If a person can easily and cheaply produce plastic magazines in the privacy of their home the SAFE limitation is mostly voided.\u00a0 Better still, as a political act of defiance, magazines with Hoylman&#8217;s face printed on them could be made in bulk and dropped in public locations, kinda like <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Johnny_Appleseed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Johnny Appleseed<\/a>.\u00a0 Hoylman&#8217;s choice of words prove his real motivation is ideological and not a genuine concern for public welfare.<\/p>\n<p>Metal printing is more complicated, but it is reasonable to assume that it will be better, faster and cheaper in 5-10 years than it is now.\u00a0 That is what is really needed for home production.\u00a0 Antigun hysterics will become more entertaining as the technology matures.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ssb_list_wrapper\"><li class=\"fb2\" style=\"width:135px\"><iframe src=\"\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/like.php?href=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gunpoliticsny.com%2F%3Fp%3D17186&amp;layout=button_count&amp;action=like&amp;show_faces=false&amp;share=true&amp;width=135&amp;height=21&amp;appId=307091639398582\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:none; overflow:hidden;  width:150px; height:21px;\" allowTransparency=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/li><li class=\"twtr\" style=\"width:90px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/share\" class=\"twitter-share-button\" data-url=\"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=17186\">&nbsp;<\/a><script>!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],p=\/^http:\/.test(d.location)?'http':'https';if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=p+':\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js';fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document, 'script', 'twitter-wjs');<\/script><\/li><li class=\"gplus\" style=\"width:68px\"><div class=\"g-plusone\" data-size=\"medium\" data-href=\"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=17186\"><\/div><\/li><li class=\"ssb_linkedin\" style=\"width:64px\"><script src=\"\/\/platform.linkedin.com\/in.js\" type=\"text\/javascript\">lang: en_US<\/script><script type=\"IN\/Share\" data-url=\"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=17186\" data-counter=\"right\"><\/script><\/li><\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to the Daily News: &#8220;A Manhattan state senator wants to make \u201cghost guns\u201d disappear.
