{"id":17053,"date":"2018-07-12T11:27:22","date_gmt":"2018-07-12T15:27:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=17053"},"modified":"2018-07-12T11:27:22","modified_gmt":"2018-07-12T15:27:22","slug":"flanagan-opens-the-door","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=17053","title":{"rendered":"Flanagan opens the door"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Under pressure from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.andrewcuomo.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Governor Cuomo<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ZackFinkNews\/status\/1017385007986470913\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">squishy RINOs<\/a> in his own conference, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/senators\/john-j-flanagan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Senator John Flanagan<\/a> has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsday.com\/opinion\/columnists\/rita-ciolli\/john-flanagan-andrew-cuomo-albany-session-1.19767427\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">opened the door<\/a> for returning the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Senate<\/a> to Albany for a special session:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; The pinball game that is New York politics lit up anew on Wednesday with State Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan telling The Point that he would consider calling his conference back for a special session by September, <a href=\"http:\/\/wrvo.org\/post\/cuomo-facing-critics-continues-campaign-get-senate-gop-vote-abortion-rights-bill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">including to consider abortion legislation<\/a>.\u00a0 \u201cI am not averse to coming back,\u201d Flanagan told us. \u201cBut first there has to be a legitimate agreement with the governor and the speaker on all outstanding issues,\u201d he said &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Abortion might be the main issue, however, Cuomo is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=16798\">still running ads<\/a> demanding action on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/states\/new-york\/albany\/story\/2018\/06\/12\/in-escalation-flanagan-blasts-cuomos-gun-control-push-463606\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">his &#8220;red flag&#8221; gun control proposal<\/a>.
