Behind the scenes, though, Molinaro&#8217;s maneuvering already has him within striking distance of locking up the Republican nomination to challenge <a href=\"http:\/\/www.governor.ny.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo<\/a> in the fall.
