{"id":15346,"date":"2017-11-04T17:28:31","date_gmt":"2017-11-04T21:28:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=15346"},"modified":"2017-11-04T17:28:31","modified_gmt":"2017-11-04T21:28:31","slug":"tioga-co-supports-h-r-3576","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=15346","title":{"rendered":"Tioga Co. supports H.R. 3576"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.owegopennysaver.com\/PS\/2017\/11\/02\/tioga-county-legislature-and-tioga-scope-support-saga\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Tioga Co. legislature made their opinion known on 2A<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; At the Sept. 12 session of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiogacountyny.com\/departments\/legislature\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tioga County Legislature<\/a>, members unanimously passed a resolution urging Congress to pass the Second Amendment Guarantee Act (SAGA). The legislation, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/115th-congress\/house-bill\/3576\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">H.R. 3576<\/a><\/strong> (SAGA), was proposed by <a href=\"https:\/\/chriscollins.house.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Congressman Chris Collins (R-NY-27)<\/a> and introduced into the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.house.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">House of Representatives<\/a> in July of this year. In similar fashion as Tioga County, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niagaracounty.com\/Legislature\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Niagara County<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.orleanscountyny.gov\/Government\/Legislature\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Orleans County<\/a> Legislatures in New York also passed resolutions in September &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Good for them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/115th-congress\/house-bill\/3576\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>H.R.3576<\/strong><\/a> isn&#8217;t exactly setting Congress on fire. It has only 14 co-sponsors and no <a href=\"http:\/\/www.senate.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Senate<\/a> companion.<\/p>\n<p>Still resolutions like this do have a purpose.
