Brian Higgins<\/a> isn&#8217;t exactly sticking to his guns. After accepting $5,000 in donations from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nraila.org\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">National Rifle Association<\/a> between 2006 and 2012, the Democratic lawmaker from\u00a0Buffalo announced on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RepBrianHiggins\/posts\/10154707652321441\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook<\/a> earlier this month that he now plans to donate that money to local and national organizations dedicated to fighting for what he called &#8220;common sense gun safety policies.&#8221; &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He accepted multiple donations between 5-10 years ago knowing full-well the beliefs of the people making those donations and just decides now he doesn&#8217;t agree with them?<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FRepBrianHiggins%2Fposts%2F10154707652321441&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"335\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowTransparency=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>An honest person who accepted monies under false pretenses would return it to the original donors, not turn around and hand it to people inimical to them.
