The Post reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“… A bill introduced by state Sen. Catharine Young<\/a>, an upstate Republican, would exempt the Amish, Mennonites and other religious sects from a state regulation requiring that photos be included in applications for weapons permits …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The bill in question is S-6859<\/strong><\/a>. There was an earlier incarnation S-3855<\/strong><\/a> by Sen. Kathy Marchione<\/a> which had the enacting clause stricken.<\/p>\n

The issue first came about during the SAFE Act lawsuit.\u00a0 Affected Amish declined to get involved in the lawsuit for religious reasons.<\/p>\n

Neither of these bills have an Assembly<\/a> companion and are unlikely to go anywhere.<\/p>\n
