{"id":14718,"date":"2017-07-03T15:07:23","date_gmt":"2017-07-03T19:07:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=14718"},"modified":"2017-07-03T15:07:23","modified_gmt":"2017-07-03T19:07:23","slug":"kennedy-to-retire-next-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=14718","title":{"rendered":"Kennedy to retire next year?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SCOTUS<\/a> not taking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scotusblog.com\/case-files\/cases\/peruta-v-california\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Peruta<\/em><\/a> was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=14687\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a disappointment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, that disappointment may be short-lived because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/the-fix\/wp\/2017\/07\/03\/republicans-just-quietly-got-some-very-good-supreme-court-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to the Washington Post<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; it is unlikely that <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anthony_Kennedy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kennedy<\/a> will remain on the court for the full four years of the Trump presidency.
