{"id":14531,"date":"2017-05-23T19:01:08","date_gmt":"2017-05-23T23:01:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=14531"},"modified":"2017-05-23T19:01:46","modified_gmt":"2017-05-23T23:01:46","slug":"guy-buyback-memo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=14531","title":{"rendered":"Guy buyback memo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nyassembly.gov\/mem\/Mark-Gjonaj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj<\/a> has circulated a memo asking for support for his so-called gun buyback bill, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/legislation\/bills\/2017\/A7903\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>A-7903<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"..\\images\\gunbuyback-memo.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"..\\images\\gunbuyback-memo.jpg\" alt=\"Gun buyback memo\" width=\"525\" height=\"700\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Even the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/new-york\/nypd-holding-gun-buyback-events-article-1.2472317\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">most antigun member of the Clown Council called B.S. on buybacks<\/a> a couple of years ago:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; \u201cIt\u2019s always good to get guns off the street \u2014 I think getting any gun is good,\u201d said <a href=\"http:\/\/council.nyc.gov\/district-45\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">City Councilman Jumaane Williams (D-Brooklyn)<\/a>. \u201cBut I don\u2019t know if they\u2019re the most effective way to deal with gun violence.\u201d &#8230; \u201cSometimes you may get guns that are inoperable.
