{"id":1434,"date":"2010-05-10T07:17:36","date_gmt":"2010-05-10T11:17:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=1434"},"modified":"2010-05-10T07:17:36","modified_gmt":"2010-05-10T11:17:36","slug":"gop-candidates-on-the-ground-and-on-the-air","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=1434","title":{"rendered":"GOP candidates on the ground and on the air"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/lazio.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rick Lazio<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.levyforny.com\" target=\"_blank\">Steve Levy<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paladinoforthepeople.com\" target=\"_blank\">Carl Paladino<\/a> had <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oneidadispatch.com\/articles\/2010\/05\/09\/news\/doc4be76f0dd06a9287177513.txt\" target=\"_blank\">a Q&amp;A session at a GOP candidates forum<\/a> in Canastota over the weekend. \u00a0Paladino at least touched on guns:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; \u201cMy philosophy is Conservative Republican,\u201d he said, explaining how he is against abortion, gay marriage and <strong>gun control<\/strong> &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Unfortunately, it appears <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.timesunion.com\/capitol\/archives\/26241\/levys-25-percent-hail-mary\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lazio has a majority of support<\/a> to secure the GOP gubernatorial nomination. \u00a0Starting today Paladino and Levy <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/2010\/05\/10\/2010-05-10_earful_of_gop_hopefuls.html\" target=\"_blank\">will begin airing ads<\/a> looking to cut into that support prior to the upcoming GOP convention. \u00a0According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.buffalonews.com\/2010\/05\/09\/1044852\/paladino-ramps-up-campaign-with.html\" target=\"_blank\">Buffalo News<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; The radio ads feature Paladino speaking to his audience about cutting taxes, slashing spending and creating jobs.
