{"id":13948,"date":"2017-02-03T12:30:23","date_gmt":"2017-02-03T17:30:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=13948"},"modified":"2017-02-03T12:30:23","modified_gmt":"2017-02-03T17:30:23","slug":"house-votes-to-revoke-obama-gun-rule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=13948","title":{"rendered":"House votes to revoke Obama gun rule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.house.gov\" target=\"_blank\">House<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national\/house-roll-call-gun-background-checks\/2017\/02\/02\/b6ea3fee-e9bd-11e6-903d-9b11ed7d8d2a_story.html\" target=\"_blank\">voted yesterday<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nraila.org\/articles\/20170202\/nra-applauds-house-votes-to-respect-due-process-for-gun-owners\" target=\"_blank\">revoke a rule <\/a>put in place by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\" target=\"_blank\">Obama<\/a> administration last year banning certain <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ssa.gov\" target=\"_blank\">Social Security<\/a> recipients who use a representative payee from owning firearms.<\/p>\n<p>The New York contingent voted as follows:\u00a0 All the Democrats except <a href=\"http:\/\/velazquez.house.gov\" target=\"_blank\">Nydia Velazquez<\/a> who was excused along with Republicans <a href=\"http:\/\/donovan.house.gov\" target=\"_blank\">Dan Donovon<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/peteking.house.gov\" target=\"_blank\">Pete King<\/a> voted NO.\u00a0 All the other Republicans voted YES.<\/p>\n<p>Bill numbers are <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/thomas.loc.gov\" target=\"_blank\">H.J. Res 40<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/thomas.loc.gov\" target=\"_blank\">S.J.
