Some rumor-mongering from Newsday<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan<\/a>, a Long Islander who has clashed with Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo<\/a> in recent weeks, is considering a Republican run for governor in 2018, according to three Republicans who spoke to Flanagan about the bid. \u201cYes, I\u2019ve heard him say that,\u201d one Republican said. \u201cI think a lot of people are talking about him,\u201d another prominent Republican said. \u201cHe\u2019s the right age, the right demographic, has been successful in retaining the Senate majority and certainly has the respect statewide and not just as Senate majority leader.\u201d …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Successful?\u00a0 The only reason for his “success” is because Cuomo and some Democrats want him to be in charge of the Senate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Respect?\u00a0 He’s Cuomo’s butt-monkey!<\/p>\n

“… As a Republican he could attract the upstate support as well, but his vote for Cuomo\u2019s SAFE Act gun control measure could hurt him among more conservative voters …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It’s way<\/span> more than that.<\/p>\n

The idea of him running was so absurd that Ed Cox threw cold water on the idea<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“Republican Chairman Ed Cox on Wednesday in a Capital Tonight interview dismissed reports Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan is contemplating a run for governor in 2018. \u201cLet me say, he is not thinking about it,\u201d Cox said in the interview to air tonight on TWC News. \u201cHe is focused on his job as majority leader of the state Senate \u2014 a tough job \u2014 particularly when you have a governor who for the first time in two centuries was not delivered to the legislators.\u201d” …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He’s not thinking about it because so many people were laughing out loud after reading that piece in Newsday.<\/p>\n
