{"id":13576,"date":"2016-10-13T11:47:31","date_gmt":"2016-10-13T15:47:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=13576"},"modified":"2016-10-13T11:47:31","modified_gmt":"2016-10-13T15:47:31","slug":"ingrahams-excuses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=13576","title":{"rendered":"Ingraham&#8217;s excuses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lauraingraham.com\" target=\"_blank\">Laura Ingraham<\/a> is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/2016\/10\/11\/laura-ingraham-trump-betrayal-by-republican-elites-wont-soon-be-forgotten.html\" target=\"_blank\">looking to place blame<\/a> for what seems likely will be <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump\" target=\"_blank\">Donald Trump<\/a> losing in November:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;The vast majority of Republicans want Donald Trump to be president &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>No. In an overcrowded GOP field, Trump received a plurality of around 35% of those Republicans who bothered to show up and vote in the early primaries.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; The Republican Party is led by people who have more in common with the Clintons than with the GOP base. Their fundamental problem is that they are closer to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hillaryclinton.com\" target=\"_blank\">Hillary<\/a> on most issues than they are to Republican voters &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In that they are elitists who look down upon average people, sure.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; instead of having an honest discussion as to whether the GOP should be a globalist party or a nationalist party, everything dissolves into personal attacks &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Is the GOP eating their own?\u00a0 Yep.\u00a0 That happens to some extent all the time and does not address the fundamental flaw of the Trump campaign which is this: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">While Hillary is a terrible person who would make a terrible president, so is Trump.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Both Hillary and Trump are ideological progressives so there&#8217;s not much difference there.\u00a0 Trump also did <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/msnbc\/donald-trump-does-not-have-campaign\" target=\"_blank\">not put together much of a campaign<\/a>, seeming to rely mostly on free media attention and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Most import of all is that Trump himself did not spend enough time talking about serious issues, going with vague statements about &#8220;Making America great again&#8221; and how he could run the government &#8220;better&#8221; instead.\u00a0 Trump spoke more about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2016\/03\/03\/politics\/donald-trump-small-hands-marco-rubio\/\" target=\"_blank\">the (alleged) size of his dick<\/a> than he did on things people truly care about such as how his economic plan would help people save for retirement.\u00a0 The GOP leadership establishment did not make Trump do this, it was because of an inherent flaw in the candidate himself.\u00a0 If Trump goes now in flames the blame will be on him.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ssb_list_wrapper\"><li class=\"fb2\" style=\"width:135px\"><iframe src=\"\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/like.php?href=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gunpoliticsny.com%2F%3Fp%3D13576&amp;layout=button_count&amp;action=like&amp;show_faces=false&amp;share=true&amp;width=135&amp;height=21&amp;appId=307091639398582\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:none;
