{"id":13531,"date":"2016-10-05T10:46:14","date_gmt":"2016-10-05T14:46:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=13531"},"modified":"2016-10-05T10:46:14","modified_gmt":"2016-10-05T14:46:14","slug":"not-what-i-wanted-to-hear","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=13531","title":{"rendered":"Not what I wanted to hear"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Poughkeepsie Journal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poughkeepsiejournal.com\/story\/news\/local\/2016\/10\/04\/john-faso-zephyr-teachout-edit-board\/91535568\/\" target=\"_blank\">interviewed<\/a> candidates <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnfaso.com\" target=\"_blank\">John Faso<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zephyrteachoutforcongress.com\" target=\"_blank\">Zephyr Teachout<\/a> who are running for the open <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latfor.state.ny.us\/maps\/2012c\/CD_map_rep_19.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">CD-19<\/a> seat.<\/p>\n<p>On the topic of guns:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; On gun control, Teachout favors eliminating purchases at gun shows without a background check and ensuring guns are denied to individuals on the No-Fly List. Faso said gun-show transactions typically are &#8220;informal sales&#8221; between people &#8220;known to each other.&#8221; &#8220;The vast majority of gun crime is not committed with long guns,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The vast majority is committed with handguns.
