The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.governor.ny.gov\" target=\"_blank\">governor<\/a> also said <a href=\"http:\/\/www.annathrone-holst.com\" target=\"_blank\">Throne-Holst<\/a> will work to address \u201ccommon-sense gun control laws\u201d &#8230; Cuomo noted that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zeldinforcongress.com\" target=\"_blank\">Zeldin<\/a> opposed the SAFE Act when he was a member of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nysenategop.net\" target=\"_blank\">Senate Republican<\/a> conference, and has voted against gun control measures since arriving in Congress. \u201cSenseless acts of violence continue to claim the lives of too many citizens across our state and country, and this issue is critical to the people of Suffolk County,\u201d the governor said. \u201cLee Zeldin has allowed the grip of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nra.org\" target=\"_blank\">NRA<\/a> to persuade his positions, forgoing the needs of his constituents for the deep pockets of the gun lobby.\u201d &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>What is his endorsement actually worth?\u00a0 Probably not a lot and even less when it is based upon an unpopular issue.\u00a0 Cuomo gets a lot of criticism for not helping to elect fellow Democrats.\u00a0 This is an easy way for him to appear to be doing something for them, while not really putting a lot of effort into it.<\/p>\n<p>Zeldin is one of the few bright spots in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nygop.org\" target=\"_blank\">NY Republican<\/a> conference.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t think he is going to waffle on the issue because of this.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ssb_list_wrapper\"><li class=\"fb2\" style=\"width:135px\"><iframe src=\"\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/like.php?href=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gunpoliticsny.com%2F%3Fp%3D13476&amp;layout=button_count&amp;action=like&amp;show_faces=false&amp;share=true&amp;width=135&amp;height=21&amp;appId=307091639398582\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:none;
