The Supreme Court<\/a> declined to take up a challenge to Connecticut’s semi-auto ban<\/a>.\u00a0 That was not a surprise given they are one justice short at the moment.<\/p>\n

This is not the end of the issue.\u00a0 Some people think that Heller<\/em><\/a> and McDonald<\/em><\/a> settled the gun control debate when in fact they were more of a starting point.\u00a0 We need to look at things from a long term perspective.\u00a0 It took nearly 40 years for NRA<\/a> and others to set up a legal framework which got us Heller.\u00a0 It is entirely possible that it will take a couple of decades worth of court decisions and legal scholarship before the next right case makes it to them.<\/p>\n
