{"id":12901,"date":"2016-04-04T10:12:19","date_gmt":"2016-04-04T14:12:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=12901"},"modified":"2016-04-04T10:12:19","modified_gmt":"2016-04-04T14:12:19","slug":"hillarys-attacks-on-bernienra-not-working","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=12901","title":{"rendered":"Hillary&#8217;s attacks on Bernie\/NRA not working"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hillaryclinton.com\" target=\"_blank\">Hillary<\/a> keeps trying to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wnyc.org\/story\/new-york-primary-becomes-brooklyn-brawl\/\" target=\"_blank\">link Bernie with the NRA<\/a> particularly in the black community:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; As the Democratic primary stretched into its fourth month of intense campaigning, both the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.berniesanders.com\" target=\"_blank\">Sanders<\/a> camp and the Clinton camp betrayed signs of mounting frustration, zinging each other over fossil fuel contributions, connections to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nra.org\" target=\"_blank\">National Rifle Association<\/a>, and, most heatedly, a date for a Brooklyn debate &#8230; &#8220;Folks can do all the talking they want, but at the end of the day, show me what you have done and what you will do, show me what kinds of results you can get for people,&#8221; Clinton said at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brownmemorialbaptist.org\" target=\"_blank\">Brown Memorial Baptist Church<\/a>, jabbing at Sanders for &#8220;voting with the National Rifle Association&#8221; by opposing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atf.gov\/rules-and-regulations\/brady-law\" target=\"_blank\">Brady bill<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.govtrack.us\/congress\/bills\/109\/s397\" target=\"_blank\">opposing assigning liability<\/a> to gun violence for guns makers and sellers &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>She has been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/hillary-clinton-criticizes-bernie-sanders-gun-record-new-york-443096\" target=\"_blank\">doing this for awhile<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; In Harlem this week, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.schumer.senate.gov\" target=\"_blank\">Senator Chuck Schumer<\/a> of New York commended Clinton for supporting the Brady Bill &#8230; A glance at her list of supporters indicates that Clinton is viewed as the stronger candidate in the anti-gun movement. She is supported by prominent New Yorkers, including Schumer, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.governor.ny.gov\" target=\"_blank\">Cuomo<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/mayor\" target=\"_blank\">Mayor Bill de Blasio<\/a>, who are strong advocates for gun-control prevention. The former secretary of state also has earned endorsements from other national gun-control activists, including the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bradycampaign.org\" target=\"_blank\">Brady campaign<\/a> and former <a href=\"http:\/\/www.americansforresponsiblesolutions.org\" target=\"_blank\">U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords<\/a> &#8230; Other Clinton supporters from the movement include the mothers of the late Trayvon Martin and Jordan Davis &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nypost.com\/2016\/04\/04\/ny-dems-worried-black-voters-will-stay-home-on-primary-day\/\" target=\"_blank\">Is this tactic working<\/a>?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; Armed with troubling private polling data, top state Democrats are fearful that \u201ccomplacency\u2019\u2019 by less-than-enthusiastic Hillary Clinton voters will lead to surprisingly strong showing by Bernie Sanders in New York\u2019s important April 19 primary, The Post has learned. Democrats are especially worried, as their polls suggest that black voters, while heavily in Clinton\u2019s camp, will stay home on primary day because many assume the former secretary of state and New York senator will easily win the electoral contest &#8230;
