The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/nypd\" target=\"_blank\">NYPD<\/a> will help test the designs &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Eric <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=3351\">knows a lot<\/a> about gun safety.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; \u201cThe NYPD\u2019s range officers will help work out the kinks,\u201d said Adams, who thought of the idea after the murders of Police Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos in 2014. \u201cWe want to do something the NRA has prevented gun manufacturers from doing.\u201d &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The NYPD has yet to <a href=\"http:\/\/bearingarms.com\/nypd-a-dangerous-philosophy\/\" target=\"_blank\">work out the kinks with regular guns<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; Adams turned to borough colleges \u2014 the <a href=\"http:\/\/engineering.nyu.edu\" target=\"_blank\">Polytechnic Institute of New York University<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pratt.edu\" target=\"_blank\">Pratt University<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.citytech.cuny.edu\" target=\"_blank\">New York City College of Technology<\/a> among them \u2014 to work on the project. The one with the best proposal gets $1 million from Adams\u2019 budget to advance the program &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ahh, there just had to be a public monetary component in all this.\u00a0 Eric has a history of <a href=\"http:\/\/observer.com\/2015\/08\/brooklyn-beep-demands-10-million-in-emergency-funding-to-fight-gun-violence\/\" target=\"_blank\">spreading it around<\/a>.\u00a0 God bless <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tammany_Hall\" target=\"_blank\">Tammany Hall<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; The plan already has been blessed by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nyc.gov\" target=\"_blank\">City Hall<\/a>. \u201cThe city is proud to take the lead in anti-gun violence strategies, and looks forward to testing out this new gun technology,\u201d a spokeswoman said.
