It\u2019s terrifying. This is a tragedy waiting to happen,\u201d said Long Island U.S. Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) &#8230; The watch list is not used when gun store owners do background checks, and in light of the Paris terror attacks this past Friday, King wants the law changed as soon as possible. \u201cThis is an incredibly dangerous loophole,\u201d King said. \u201cWe see all the potential threats and dangers that we have, and we\u2019ve seen what\u2019s happened in Paris. Don\u2019t make it easier for them by allowing them to go into a gun shop and buy a gun.\u201d &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As usual, King&#8217;s biggest supporters are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsday.com\/long-island\/suffolk\/anna-throne-holst-delivers-gun-control-petitions-to-lee-zeldin-s-office-1.11208597\" target=\"_blank\">far left Democrats and antigunners <\/a>who jumped on his next door neighbor <a href=\"https:\/\/zeldin.house.gov\" target=\"_blank\">Lee Zeldin<\/a> to support the bill:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.annathrone-holst.com\" target=\"_blank\">Southampton Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst<\/a>, who is looking to oppose Republican Rep. Lee Zeldin next November, dropped off petitions with 800 signatures at the congressman\u2019s local district office Monday urging him to back fellow Republican Rep. Peter King\u2019s proposal to bar those involved in terrorism from being able to get guns &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Zeldin, however, was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsday.com\/long-island\/rep-lee-zeldin-counters-rep-peter-king-s-bill-on-gun-buys-1.11219420\" target=\"_blank\">having none of it<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;Rep. Lee Zeldin filed a bill Friday to allow individuals on U.S. terrorist watch lists to buy guns unless the Justice Department stops them with a court order, countering legislation sponsored by Rep.
