Liz Kruger<\/a> suggested gun control advocates <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/politics\/gun-control-advocates-join-nra-sen-krueger-article-1.2396288\" target=\"_blank\">join to NRA to undermine it from within<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/politics\/lovett-ny-lawmaker-joins-nra-learn-ways-fight-article-1.2402294\" target=\"_blank\">Brooklyn Assemblyman Walter Mosley took her advice<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/assembly.state.ny.us\/mem\/Walter-T-Mosley\/\" target=\"_blank\">Assemblyman Walter Mosley<\/a>, a second-term Brooklyn Democrat, says that \u201cit\u2019s important to read the publications they get and the articles they read.\u201d He also plans on attending the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nraam.org\" target=\"_blank\">annual NRA convention<\/a> in Kentucky in May. \u201cIf we can see where their position is coming from, it gives us a better way to counter their position and how we can help those who are on the front lines still trying to thwart illegal gun trafficking and crimes that take place from that industry,\u201d he said &#8230; &#8220;If we can see where their position is coming from, it gives us a better way to counter their position and how we can help those who are on the front lines still trying to thwart illegal gun trafficking and crimes that take place from that industry,\u201d he said. \u201cI have to go where the debate is, where the conversations and the narratives that are counterintuitive to what my position is are being shaped,\u201d he added &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Giving credit where it is due, it took balls to make a statement like that.\u00a0 It is exceedingly rare for a NYC politician to even consider the notion that some people may have different ideas and beliefs from their own, let alone try to investigate them.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; One Assembly Democratic insider called it a \u201cbad move\u201d for Mosley to pay money to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nra.org\" target=\"_blank\">NRA<\/a>, even if it\u2019s a nominal $35 annual membership fee. He also dismissed Mosley\u2019s contention that joining the organization will help him learn its playbook. \u201cWe already know what they think,\u201d the source said &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>No, they don&#8217;t as most live inside the arrogance, elitism and ignorance of the NYC\/beltway bubble.\u00a0 The first thing Mosley is going to learn is that the Daily News does not tell the truth on the issue and unless there is a national toilet paper shortage, there is no reason to buy that newspaper.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; \u201cI hope this will allow for other legislators to be more proactive,\u201d he said. \u201cWe have to have the audacity to step out of our comfort zones and step into places that make us feel uncomfortable.
