{"id":10744,"date":"2014-09-17T09:10:53","date_gmt":"2014-09-17T13:10:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=10744"},"modified":"2014-09-17T09:10:53","modified_gmt":"2014-09-17T13:10:53","slug":"grisanti-admits-safe-hurt-him","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=10744","title":{"rendered":"Grisanti admits SAFE hurt him"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mark_Grisanti\" target=\"_blank\">Senator Mark Grisanti<\/a> who <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nystateofpolitics.com\/2014\/09\/grisanti-a-gop-ally-for-cuomo-in-senate-loses-primary\/\" target=\"_blank\">lost the GOP primary<\/a> last week <a href=\"http:\/\/www.buffalonews.com\/city-region\/elections\/grisanti-plans-active-run-on-the-independence-line-20140916\" target=\"_blank\">admits to the Buffalo News<\/a> that his SAFE vote hurt him:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230;\u00a0He acknowledged his vote in favor of the SAFE Act, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.andrewcuomo.com\" target=\"_blank\">Cuomo\u2019s<\/a> strict gun-control law, could have been a factor this year, especially with his district now encompassing more suburban territory. \u00a0But he said he will continue to make the case that his vote for the bill resulted only from his efforts to strip it of some of its more \u201cobtrusive measures.\u201d &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bullshit.<\/p>\n<p>Now that he&#8217;s lost major party backing is he going to get the hint and away? \u00a0No.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230;\u00a0Grisanti said Tuesday he will wage an active campaign on the Independence line for the 60th District seat this fall following his defeat last week in the Republican primary. \u00a0Grisanti\u2019s campaign looms as a decidedly underdog effort, since victories for such a major office on a minor-party line are rare &#8230;
