Deputy Senate GOP Leader Tom Libous<\/a> sums up everything that is wrong <\/a>with the NYS Republican Party<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“… The senator paused and repeated the question before saying: \u201cWell, I like Rob Astorino<\/a> but I think Andrew Cuomo<\/a> is going to be governor. I don\u2019t think he\u2019s going to lose. I don\u2019t think Rob\u2019s gonna beat him.\u201d \u00a0Libous said it was \u201cunfair\u201d to ask him about endorsing Astorino. He said he believes Astorino \u201chas some very good things that he\u2019s pushing forward but, right now, his campaign hasn\u2019t really gotten off the ground.\u201d \u00a0Libous said \u201cI\u2019m going to vote for him. I\u2019m going to support him but I\u2019m not going to get too overly-involved in the governor\u2019s race.\u201d …”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That last statement is simply not true. \u00a0Libous and most of the machine Republicans are openly supporting Cuomo and undermining Astorino.<\/p>\n

In a way, it’s good that they are not backing Astorino. \u00a0These establishment RINOs are the ones who have spent the last twenty or so years running the GOP into the ground. \u00a0Their “help” would just make his campaign crash and burn. \u00a0All the support Astorino is getting, the lawn signs that are popping up, comes from ordinary people. \u00a0That is something which the last few establishment candidates never had.<\/p>\n
