{"id":1059,"date":"2010-03-21T08:58:18","date_gmt":"2010-03-21T12:58:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=1059"},"modified":"2010-03-21T08:59:33","modified_gmt":"2010-03-21T12:59:33","slug":"lazio-levy-paladino","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gunpoliticsny.com\/?p=1059","title":{"rendered":"Lazio, Levy &#038; Paladino"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/lazio.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rick Lazio<\/a> is <a href=\"http:\/\/polhudson.lohudblogs.com\/2010\/03\/19\/levy-announces-and-gets-backing-from-cox\/\" target=\"_blank\">pissed<\/a> that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.levyforny.com\" target=\"_blank\">Steve Levy<\/a> switched parties and will try for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nygop.org\" target=\"_blank\">GOP<\/a> nomination for Governor. \u00a0The Conservatives are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/blogs\/dailypolitics\/2010\/03\/conservatives-go-with-lazio.html\" target=\"_blank\">sticking with Lazio<\/a> for now. \u00a0If Lazio had a solid base of support, which he doesn&#8217;t, he would have locked up both nominations a long time ago.<\/p>\n<p>Levy met with local Tea Party people. \u00a0I know one local activist who queried Levy specifically on gun issues. \u00a0He was later e-mailed an excerpt from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nysafe.org\/AR-PM01.htm#PRESEPT06\" target=\"_blank\">an old SAFE newsletter from &#8217;06<\/a> regarding Levy&#8217;s support of keeping the Suffolk Trap &amp; Skeet Range open.<\/p>\n<p>NewsCopy <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newscopy.org\/2010\/03\/new-york-republicans-fail-again-to-find-candidate-for-governor-want-to-run-for-governor.html\" target=\"_blank\">thinks the RKBA will be a problem for Levy<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;&#8230; Tea Party leaders met with Levy last week.  Some walked out.  Others expressed disappointment over his dodging of issues.
