Rick Lazio<\/a> is pissed<\/a> that Steve Levy<\/a> switched parties and will try for the GOP<\/a> nomination for Governor. \u00a0The Conservatives are sticking with Lazio<\/a> for now. \u00a0If Lazio had a solid base of support, which he doesn’t, he would have locked up both nominations a long time ago.<\/p>\n

Levy met with local Tea Party people. \u00a0I know one local activist who queried Levy specifically on gun issues. \u00a0He was later e-mailed an excerpt from an old SAFE newsletter from ’06<\/a> regarding Levy’s support of keeping the Suffolk Trap & Skeet Range open.<\/p>\n

NewsCopy thinks the RKBA will be a problem for Levy<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“… Tea Party leaders met with Levy last week. Some walked out. Others expressed disappointment over his dodging of issues. His failure to articulate support of Second Amendment<\/a> rights also will doom him with Conservatives statewide and most of upstate New York north of White Plains …” <\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yet another GOP contender has surfaced: Buffalo businessman Carl Paladino<\/a> who is being backed by moneybags Tom Golisano. \u00a0He articulates support for the RKBA in this video message at 0:20:<\/p>\n

According to PolitickerNY<\/a>, if Paladino doesn’t get CP backing he will create a Tea Party ballot line.<\/p>\n
