If there was, I would have voted against it,\u201d said one senator, who requested anonymity. \u00a0Several <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NYS_AM\" target=\"_blank\">Assembly GOP<\/a> lawmakers said they knew only about the gun-law funding after a state Budget Division briefing.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bullshit.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.assembly.state.ny.us\" target=\"_blank\">Assembly<\/a>\u00a0openly debated this funding on the chamber floor in public session. \u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Everybody<\/span><\/strong> knew the money was there. \u00a0Proof of this can be found in the April 11 edition of the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.adirondackdailyenterprise.com\/page\/content.detail\/id\/542364\/Stec-warns-against-state-gun-database.html\" target=\"_blank\">Stec warns against state gun database<\/a>&#8220;:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/assembly.state.ny.us\/mem\/Dan-Stec\" target=\"_blank\">Assemblyman Dan Stec<\/a> is warning against a provision in the state budget which would fund a state database for gun records, required by last year&#8217;s Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act. \u00a0Stec, a Republican from Queensbury, objects to a $3.2 million allocation in the budget to implement the database. \u00a0That line item falls within a provision that gives state police $88.9 million for technical police service programs.
