Cuomo preps antigun ad campaign

The NY Post reports:

Gov. Cuomo is expected to unleash a $10 million package of TV attack ads designed to “define’’ his newly announced Republican challenger, Rob Astorino, as a “right-wing nut,” … The negative commercials will be primarily aimed at convincing independent and moderate voters, especially women, that Astorino holds what Cuomo has already branded as “extreme conservative’’ views on … gun-ownership rights … Longtime Democratic consultant Hank Sheinkopf said he expected Cuomo to unleash a series of costly harsh attacks — with a price tag of “about $10 million.” …”

Bring it on.  Cuomo blew $400,000 last year on a series of ads last spring through his “New Yorkers for Gun Safety” PAC trying to convince people the SAFE Act is a good thing.  Then he directed the state Democrat committee to spend probably over $1 million in a series of five full color flyers attacking Ed Manago for not support SAFE during last years Nassau County Executives race which Mangano ended up winning by 20 points. In addition, Astorino’s opponent last year Noam Bramsom spent heavy on antigun ads (1,2) and all that got him was a 10 point loss in the general election.

  1. Bring it on Andy— these ads will probably get Astorino elected- Andy you are scared- because NY is fed up with you and your tyranny and you know it!!

  2. Astorino is not all that well known in the upstate regions. So thanks in advance for making him known and the smart citizens will do their own research and see the truth behind Rob.

  3. Let the a** spend his money….. We have friends and Facebook ! Not counting all the Got to go & un-safe act signs all over the state !

  4. Ads like this are nails in the coffin of his reelection run. Let’s hope his ads do reflect the essence of his behavior and we will have a new gov.

  5. Good, Keep pissing off the good guy’s Andrew. You will really find out how we feel in the fall. A piece of advice. Don’t make any long term plans to re-do the mansion…

  6. I think if he spent 25 million on this ad it would change peoples mind and the would see his view on the subject! But only if everybody stuck there head up there ass first would this be possible.

  7. The real picture is Cuomo is using your tax dollars to promote his reelection, he will set up a smoke screen to make you believe he is your guy. The reality is he is in campaign mode and will do or say anything to get reelected but if he does it will be business as usual, he will then be in presidential campaign mode and NY State will be left in the dust as it was after taking the governor’s seat.

  8. Starting to crank up the propaganda machine on the tax payers dime. This cuts across party lines. I think what is going on in Connecticut also has him in panic mode.

  9. I hope the trend continues with Liberals losing races because of their antigun stance, it will help weed them out.

I remember the broadcast when Mario Cuomo said he was our “Shepard”, narcissism must run in the family. If it wasn’t for the meto area, these Democrats would be nothing.
