Gibson bows out

Congressman Chris Gibson has decided against a 2018 run for Governor.

That leaves Weschester County Executive Rob Astorino as the strongest likely challenger for Governor Cuomo in ’18.  Each candidate had their owns strengths: Gibson being a somewhat “moderate” Republican and Astorino being better known in the NYC metro area.  It is good that he decided to end it now because we do not need a primary contest.  Personally I would have gone with Rob over Chris, but either would be an improvement over the incumbent.

  1. What is your hunch on the new Cuomo investigation Jacob. Do you still think this could be his end or will he skate by but with injuries that wont heal??

  2. Do you think Rob will get the party support this time around? No reason he should have lost the last time with Cuomo being as weak as he was, other than the knife in his back from the RINO’s.This fucking state better start making some major changes or might as well shut off the lights.

  3. Unless the GOP gets like 36 seats in the Senate I’d say no. If Cuomo tries for a 3rd term and the Senate Republicans are as weak as they are now I believe they will screw over whomever is their candidate same as last time.
