Observations

Aside from the fact that the Republican establishment is the biggest support of Gov. Cuomo, there is other funny shit going on:

  • Too much niceness – Notwithstanding a little snipping here and there, there isn’t much acrimony between the party and the candidates.
  • Democrat control of the State Senate looks to have gone out the window and nobody is unhappy about it.
  • Signs – Where are they?  I have not seen a single sign for Cuomo or either candidate for Attorney General or Comptroller.  There are numerous places where I have seen sign farms in years past and they are not there this year.

  1. I agree Jacob on the those weird observances. I have only seen ONE Cumo/Hohcel sign and that was in Hudson Falls, NY. It was surrounded by Astrino/Moss signs thou.

I am not sure if the Senate matters even if the goes back to the Republicans. If Cumo still gets reelected it’s nothing to really celebrate. They will still bow to him and do his bidding.

It will be interesting if, in the Assembly and in the Senate, the votes decide to give the republicans control of the Senate and a closer gap in the Assembly. It may give a message that NYers are tired of the city running the show. However, I could just be spit-balling here too!
